Dr. Ross is a longtime volunteer for DASI: Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault Intervention Services, Sussex County’s domestic and sexual violence services agency. As husband to the organization’s Executive Director, Dr. Ross is involved on a daily basis in the many challenges and deep rewards that are associated with this work. Every day, in one way or another, he strongly and unfailingly supports and champions the organization’s efforts to prevent domestic violence.

Dr. Ross provides financial support, he educates those in his workplace, he advocates for and coordinates donations to DASI’s resale fundraiser shop, and volunteers on a regular basis picking up truckloads of those donations. In the course of those pick-ups, he has borne witness to the pain and tears of survivors, and his enthusiasm has brought more volunteers and support to the organization. He has always been a positive role model, a true Man of Strength, for his family (which now includes five grandsons) and for those around him.

“Because I value equality and respect in relationships, that’s what I strive to model for my sons and now my grandsons. I also want to impress upon them the importance of speaking up when you need to and supporting efforts to prevent domestic violence and  sexual assault. My hope is that more men will get involved in this work!”
